Winter Task List on the Farm

Load up the wheel barrows with trash that is around the yard

Make a pile of all the random things that have accumulated and put them away

Fold up all tarps and feed bags and put away

Put all tools back in their spots

Clean out all pools, water containers, and plant pots and refill with clean water as necessary

Replace any broken feed containers or repair them

Clean out any gross stinky things

Check all beds for drainage, weeds, and plants and add new seedlings if available

Trim and harvest lettuce and onions and other plants that are ready

Fill raised beds with dirt if necessary and cover with new covers. Add new winter seeds for your zone. Ours is 8 so we are planting carrots, lettuce, radishes, and turnips

Add holiday lighting and decorations to brighten up the mood

Update hooks and posts for handing gardens and lights.

Add new gravel, hog fuel, mulch, or straw where needed.

Repair any broken panels in fences or gates, check wire and netting around cages and enclosures, replace any broken or rotting cage floors

Add new straw and bedding to animal enclosures and replace heat lamps if needed

Order new feed, hay, straw, and bedding to make it to spring.

Make some coffee and go take a bath!
