2 inch, semi-double flowers with wide lobes are red-violet pink with salmon undertones. Alphonse Pericat was a florist in Collingdale, Pennsylvania who first introduced this plant at the Philadelphia Flower Show in 1931 as an un-named seedling. David Leach coined the name and introduced it to the trade. Though my association with it does not date to the 30’s, it was an azalea I remember selling when I was in high school in the mid 60’s. 6-9 inch or 15-18 inch
