Hybrid Tea Roses

This is the most popular class of rose and outsells all other types. Generally produce one flower to a stem. Some will be better suited to the NW climate and will perform extremely well with proper care and pruning. Many thousands of varieties have been produced since the first rose appeared in 1867. The first tea roses came on tea boats bound for England from India. Originally bred for cut flowers, these amazing roses are Hybrid tea roses like to be grown in a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds. They will not succeed in shade or if crowded by other plants. A well-drained soil is preferred as they do not typically cope well with wet ground.
