Rugosa Rose
Incredibly hard, rugosa is a vigorous, upright, suckering shrub boasting a profusion of fragrant double, lare, 4″ across, rich pinkish-purple flowers. The bloom from early summer to the first frost. They are followd by edible fruits that are pretty as well with a scarlet contrast against the dark green foliage. The rose hips can be used for jams or jellies. If left on the shrub they may persist into winter. They are drought tolerant, easy to care for, and make a great flowering hedge or in a mixed border.
