Brandywine Black Raspberry Shrub

A hybrid cross between a black raspberry and a red raspberry – Brandywine is a true purple raspberry. Developed by Cornell University in N.Y. to be very adaptable and hardy. This extra-large, firm, everbearing variety is great for making wine, canning or freezing. Keep raspberry bushes evenly watered during the summer. Check regularly and water whenever the top inch of soil is dry. Drip irrigation or a soaker hose system is ideal for consistent moisture. Do not water during the winter, though, as that could cause the roots to rot.
